Cancer isn't "genetic" in the sense that "You will have cancer if your
parents did". Genetics is far more of a crapshoot, and is also affected
by what occurs during an organisms growth. Even if you inhereted a
sensitivity to specific types of cancer, chances are that you may never
encounter the required stimuli to trigger the cancer itself. You can
seek genetic counciling if its a big concern in your family tree.
Cancer can be treated by surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy,
immunotherapy, monoclonal antibody therapy or other methods, and there
are even new recombinant drug treatments and DNA tagging
experimentations that are constantly being tested on the fringe of
